🍁 The Wingman SMB Blog

Plain-spoken guides for shops that'd rather be running a business than running an agency.

Honest answers about websites, social media, AI, and what's actually worth your money in 2026. No agency jargon. No upsell-y fluff. Just neighbour-to-neighbour guides written for Canadian small business owners.

We're publishing our first batch shortly. The line-up is below. If you'd like a heads-up when the first one drops, just get started free — we'll add you to the short list.

★ FIRST BATCH

The first guides are live.

These are the questions we get asked over and over on sales calls. So we're writing the answers down, properly, once. Three are live now — more on the way.

★ WHAT TO EXPECT

What you won't find here.

No clickbait. If a headline asks a question, the article actually answers it. We don't pad word counts to hit some SEO target.

No fake stats. If we cite a number, it's because we can back it up. If we don't have a source, we'll say "from what we've seen" and tell you what we've seen.

No upsell traps. We'll often argue against hiring us when DIY is the right move. Our reputation is worth more than one extra sale.

No agency-speak. Plain Canadian English. Short sentences. Specific dollar amounts and timelines. The kind of writing you'd want from a neighbour who knew their stuff.

the short version

Useful answers. Honest pricing. No pitch unless we genuinely think we can help.

If a guide ends with "...and if you want help, here's what we charge" — it's because we'd actually be a good fit. If a guide ends with "...and here's a free tool that does this for you" — it's because that's the better answer.

That's the deal.
